1. Overview & Our Core Privacy Commitment

Alarmify (“we”, “us”, or “our”), developed by ClearLabs, provides Android smart utility features including scheduled alarms, multi-mission wake-up challenges, wake-check anti-oversleep protection, countdown timers, stopwatch timing, sleep consistency tracking, bedtime routines, Alarmify AI Studio, and customizable home screen widgets. We believe utility applications should respect your personal privacy.

Alarmify does not sell your personal data, does not monetize through third-party advertising networks, and does not deploy invasive tracking mechanisms. Your personal sleep habits and daily routines remain private to you.

2. Data We Process & How It Is Handled

Alarmify processes data strictly in the following functional categories:

A. Local On-Device Data

By default, functional data created within Alarmify is stored locally on your Android device inside private sandboxed storage. This includes:

• Alarm Configurations: Alarm times, labels, repeat schedules, sound selections, custom media references, snooze settings, wake-check preferences, and wake-up mission sequences.
• Timer & Stopwatch Data: Saved timer presets, active countdown state, and lap records.
• Sleep Streaks & Routine State: Sleep alarm history, current and best sleep streak counters, streak saver counts (up to 2 for Free tier, up to 4 for Pro tier), and bedtime sanctuary preferences.
• App Settings & Customization: User nickname, theme preferences, and vibration patterns.
• Local AI Chat History: Conversation threads within Alarmify AI Studio are stored locally on your device and can be wiped instantly at any time using the in-app “Clear Chat” button.

B. Wake-Up Challenges & Sensor Processing

Alarmify offers interactive wake-up challenges to prevent oversleeping. All sensor processing for missions occurs ephemerally on-device:

• Shake Challenge (Accelerometer Sensor): When the Shake to Wake challenge is active, the app accesses your device’s built-in accelerometer sensor solely to calculate real-time movement velocity and count physical shakes. Motion data is processed live in memory; it is never recorded, logged, or uploaded to any server.
• QR / Barcode Challenge (Camera Sensor): Camera frames are processed in real time entirely on your device using Android CameraX and Google ML Kit to detect matching barcode values. No photos, videos, or image buffers are ever saved to disk or transmitted across the network.
• Cognitive Challenges (Math, Typing, Sliding Puzzle): User inputs are evaluated locally in memory to verify completion before dismissing the ringer.

C. Wake Check Protection

Alarmify includes an anti-oversleep Wake Check feature that schedules a local system notification or secondary ringer 1 to 10 minutes after alarm dismissal. Wake Check operates via local Android notification and alarm managers; it does not collect behavioral telemetry or track whether you are physically out of bed beyond your direct interaction with the wake check alert.

D. Alarmify AI Studio & Voice Assistant

Alarmify includes an optional AI voice and chat assistant powered by Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini model API) and native Android Speech APIs:

• Microphone & Speech-to-Text: When you activate voice input, your spoken words are converted to text using native on-device Android Speech Recognizer components. Audio recordings are not saved to disk, recorded, or permanently stored on any server.
• AI Query Processing: Text queries you send to Alarmify AI are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections to Google Cloud Vertex AI to generate contextual responses, create alarms, or manage timers.
• No Public Model Training: Conversations and prompts sent to Alarmify AI are not used by ClearLabs or Google to train public generative AI foundation models.
• Fair-Use Interaction Tracking: To maintain server reliability and prevent quota abuse, the app monitors daily interaction counts (e.g. starter chats for Free users; 50 daily interactions for Alarmify Pro subscribers). Counters reset automatically at local midnight.

E. Location Data (Morning Weather Forecast)

If you choose to use the Morning Voice Briefing feature and grant location permissions (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION or ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION), Alarmify accesses your device’s approximate or precise location solely to retrieve current local weather data (temperature, forecast summary, and precipitation) via encrypted HTTPS queries to weather forecasting services (Open-Meteo API and BigDataCloud reverse geocoding). Alternatively, users may specify a custom city name without sharing location. Forecasts are cached locally in device preferences for up to 3 hours to minimize network traffic. Location coordinates are used ephemerally for the immediate weather request, are never tracked continuously in the background, are never stored on our servers, and are never shared with or sold to third parties.

F. Media Relay & Cloud Downloads (Cloudflare)

Alarmify provides optional high-definition live wallpapers and original audio ringtones. These assets are fetched on-demand through an encrypted Cloudflare CDN media relay. Requests are authenticated using Firebase App Check with Google Play Integrity tokens to prevent unauthorized automated scraping, without collecting personal identity records.

G. Google Play Billing & Subscriptions

Alarmify offers an optional “Alarmify Pro” subscription processed exclusively through Google Play Billing:

• Payment Processing: All financial transactions, credit/debit card processing, free trials, and renewals are handled entirely by Google Play. ClearLabs never collects, sees, or stores your credit card numbers, bank account information, or billing address.
• Subscription Status: Alarmify receives an anonymous cryptographic purchase token and order ID from Google Play to verify active Pro entitlements (e.g. multi-mission chaining, Shake to Wake, AI Morning Briefing, 50 daily AI chats, 4 streak savers, premium ringtones, and wallpapers).
• Auto-Renewal & Free Trial: Subscriptions with a 7-day free trial will automatically convert to a recurring paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled in Google Play at least 24 hours prior to trial expiration.

H. Optional Cloud Backup & Google Account Integration

If you choose to sign in with your Google Account, Alarmify uses Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore to provide optional cloud backup across your devices. When Cloud Backup is active, your data is synchronized securely to your private Cloud Firestore path (users/{userId}/data/backup):

• Account Profile Information: Display name, email address, and profile photo URL (used strictly to identify your authenticated profile in app settings).
• Synchronized State: Alarm configurations, sleep streak counts, streak saver totals, user nickname, theme preferences, and subscription entitlement status.

Cloud backup is entirely optional. You can use all core alarm, challenge, and timer features without creating an account or signing in.

I. Feedback, Support Chat & Diagnostics

When you contact customer support or submit an in-app feedback ticket:

• Support Messages: Support tickets and replies are transmitted securely via Cloud Firestore (feedback_tickets) to connect you with our support team.
• Live Typing Indicator: During active support conversations, real-time typing indicators use Firebase Realtime Database ephemerally without persisting message content.
• Support Screenshots: If you choose to attach bug screenshots, files are compressed locally and uploaded to Firebase Cloud Storage (support_screenshots). A maximum of 3 images totaling under 5MB may be attached. Uploaded screenshots are accessed strictly by our technical team to investigate and resolve your reported issue.
• Optional Diagnostics: With your consent, tickets may include basic device diagnostic metadata (app version, Android OS version, device model) to expedite troubleshooting. Diagnostics can be unchecked prior to submission.

J. Crash Diagnostics & Operational Analytics

To identify software regressions and maintain alarm execution reliability across thousands of Android device variants, Alarmify utilizes Google Firebase services:

• Crash Reporting (Firebase Crashlytics): If the application encounters an unhandled exception or crash, Crashlytics collects anonymous diagnostic information including the crash stack trace, operating system version, device hardware specifications, and application state at the time of failure. These reports contain no personal identifiers, alarm labels, or user location.
• Aggregated Usage Metrics: Anonymous operational metrics (such as feature engagement and premium screen views) help us understand which features are performing well and where reliability fixes are needed. These analytics do not contain personally identifiable names, exact location trails, or alarm audio recordings.

K. Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)

Alarmify uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver timely responses from our support team to your open feedback tickets, and to inform you of critical app updates or announcements. Push notification tokens are handled anonymously and are never linked to personal advertising profiles.

3. Camera, Microphone, Motion & Location Permissions

• Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA): Requested only for the QR / Barcode Scan Wake-up Challenge. Camera frames are processed in real time on your device using Android CameraX and ML Kit. No images or video recordings are saved or uploaded.
• Microphone Permission (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO): Requested only when activating voice input in Alarmify AI Studio. Speech is converted to text live; raw audio recordings are never stored on external servers.
• Location Permission (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION / ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION): Requested only if you enable weather integration in the Morning Voice Briefing. Coordinates are processed ephemerally for weather retrieval and never saved or shared.
• Motion Sensors (Accelerometer): Used on-device during the Shake challenge to calculate shake frequency. Motion data is never logged or stored.

4. Complete Permissions Inventory & Justifications

Alarmify requests only permissions strictly necessary for reliable alarm execution, timer operation, and core features:

• Exact Alarm Scheduling (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM): Essential for triggering alarms at your exact scheduled minute regardless of Android battery management.
• Full-Screen Intent & Keyguard (USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT, DISABLE_KEYGUARD, WAKE_LOCK): Allows active alarm screens to wake your display and present dismiss/snooze controls over the lock screen.
• Post Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Required on Android 13+ to display active timer countdowns, upcoming alarm notices, wake checks, and bedtime reminders.
• Boot Completion (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Automatically reschedules your active alarms whenever your device reboots.
• Foreground Services (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK): Keeps alarm ringers, timer countdowns, and bedtime soundscapes playing reliably in the background.
• Battery Optimization Exclusion (REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS): Prompts users to whitelist Alarmify from aggressive manufacturer battery-saving restrictions to prevent alarms from being killed in sleep mode.
• Vibration (VIBRATE): Delivers custom haptic vibration pulses during alarms and countdown timers.
• Internet Access (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Used for Google Play Billing, encrypted AI queries, weather retrieval, optional cloud sync, and crash diagnostics.

5. Google API Services & Limited Use Compliance

Alarmify’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, marketing, or resale to data brokers.

6. Data Retention, User Rights & Account / Data Deletion

You maintain complete control over your personal data at all times:

• In-App Cloud Account & Data Deletion: You can permanently delete your cloud backup document and account association directly within the app. Navigate to Settings → Profile → Delete Account & Data. Confirming deletion immediately purges your Cloud Firestore backup document, deletes your Firebase Authentication user account, and signs out your session.
• Web-Based Data Deletion Request: If you have uninstalled the application or wish to request full deletion of any associated account records via the web, you can submit a deletion request by emailing ssp99a@gmail.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”. All cloud records associated with your account will be permanently erased within 30 days in full compliance with Google Play Data Safety requirements and global privacy standards.
• In-App AI Chat Deletion: You can clear your local AI conversation history at any time by tapping the “Clear Chat” button in the AI Studio header.
• Local App Data Deletion: You can wipe all local alarms, presets, and preferences by clearing Alarmify’s storage in Android System Settings or by uninstalling the application.
• Subscription Cancellation: You can manage or cancel your Alarmify Pro subscription at any time directly inside the Google Play Store app under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
• Data Subject Rights (GDPR & CCPA): Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to access, export, rectify, or erase your personal data. Contact us to exercise any applicable statutory rights.

7. Security Practices

All connected features transmit data over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections to Google Cloud, Firebase, and Cloudflare. Alarmify implements Firebase App Check with Google Play Integrity verification in release builds to safeguard our backend infrastructure and user accounts against unauthorized automated abuse.

8. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)

Alarmify is a general utility app and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app enhancements, new features, or regulatory requirements. Updated policies will be posted on this webpage with a revised “Last updated” date.
