1. Overview & Our Core Privacy Commitment

Alarmify ("we", "us", or "our"), developed by ClearLabs, provides Android utility features including alarm management, countdown timers, stopwatch timing, sleep streak tracking, bedtime sanctuary routines, and customizable home screen widgets. We believe utility applications should respect your personal privacy.

Alarmify does not contain third-party advertising networks, data brokers, tracking cookies, or third-party behavioral telemetry SDKs. Your day-to-day app usage remains private to you.

2. Data We Process & How It Is Handled

Alarmify categorizes processed data into two distinct operational tiers:

A. Local On-Device Data

By default, all functional data created within Alarmify is stored locally on your Android device inside private sandboxed storage. This includes:

• Alarm Configurations: Alarm times, labels, repeat schedules, selected alarm sounds, custom background media references, snooze settings, and challenge configurations.
• Timer & Stopwatch Data: Saved timer presets, active countdown state, and lap records.
• Sleep Streaks & Routine State: Sleep alarm history, current and best sleep streak counters, streak saver counts, and bedtime sanctuary preferences.
• App Settings & Customization: User nickname, visual theme preferences, and vibration patterns.

B. Optional Cloud Backup Data

If you choose to sign in using Google Sign-In, Alarmify uses Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore to provide seamless 2-way cloud backup and synchronization across your Android devices. When Cloud Sync is active, the following data is synchronized to your private Cloud Firestore user document (users/{userId}/data/backup):

• Google Account Profile Info: Display name, email address, and profile picture URL (used strictly to identify your authenticated account in settings).
• Synchronized App State: Alarm configurations, sleep streak counts, best streaks, streak saver totals, user nickname, theme preferences, and last updated timestamps.

Cloud synchronization is 100% optional. If you do not sign in, no data is uploaded to cloud servers.

3. Camera Permission & Real-Time Barcode Scanning

Alarmify requests access to your device camera (android.permission.CAMERA) exclusively for the optional QR / Barcode Scan Wake-up Challenge.

Real-Time On-Device Analysis Only: When setting up or dismissing a QR/Barcode challenge, camera frames are analyzed live on your device using native Android CameraX and ML Kit libraries to detect barcode text. No camera imagery, video frames, or photos are ever saved to disk, recorded, or transmitted to any remote server. Camera access stops immediately once scanning finishes.

4. Complete Permissions Inventory & Justifications

Alarmify requests only permissions necessary to deliver reliable timing and alarm functionality:

• Exact Alarm Scheduling (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Essential for triggering alarms at your exact scheduled time despite system battery optimization.
• Full-Screen Intent & Keyguard (USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT, DISABLE_KEYGUARD, WAKE_LOCK): Allows ringing alarm screens to display over your lock screen and wake your display so you can dismiss or snooze immediately.
• Post Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Required on Android 13+ to display active timer notifications, upcoming alarm alerts, and bedtime reminders.
• Boot Completion (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Automatically reschedules your active alarms whenever your device reboots.
• Foreground Services (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK): Keeps alarm ringers, timer audio playback, and countdown timers running continuously in the background.
• Vibration (VIBRATE): Delivers custom haptic vibration patterns during alarms and timers.
• Internet Access (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Used solely to perform Google authentication and transfer Cloud Sync backup data to Firebase Cloud Firestore.

5. Google API Services & Limited Use Compliance

Alarmify's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google account data for serving advertisements, target marketing, or selling to data brokers.

6. Data Retention, User Rights & Immediate Account / Data Deletion

You maintain full control over your personal data at all times:

• In-App Cloud Account & Data Deletion (Instant Wipe): You can delete your cloud backup data and account association at any time directly within the app. Open Settings → Profile → Delete Account & Data. Confirming deletion immediately wipes your entire Cloud Firestore backup document and signs out your Google account session.
• Local Data Deletion: You can wipe all local app data by clearing Alarmify's app storage in Android System Settings or by uninstalling the application.
• Data Subject Rights (GDPR & CCPA): Under laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to access, rectify, export, or delete your personal data. Because cloud data is linked directly to your authenticated Google account, invoking "Delete Account & Data" in Profile Settings satisfies erasure requests immediately.

7. Security Practices

All data transmitted between Alarmify and Firebase Cloud Firestore / Google Authentication services is encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS). Cloud backups are stored within Google Cloud's enterprise-grade infrastructure protected by strict security rules.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Alarmify is a general utility app and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates or legal requirements. Updated policies will be published on this webpage with a revised "Last updated" date.
